Liverpool started the 2019/2020 EPL campaign on a high note, as the European champions demolished the Norwich city 4-1 on the Friday night EPL opener.
The reds took the lead seven minutes into the first half, courtesy of an own goal by Grant Hanley who slotted in Divock Origi’s cross into his own net.
The intensity of the game swelled as the visitors gained momentum and piled pressure on the host, but shortly succumbed to defeated as Mohammed Salah slotted in Liverpool’s second goal.
Virgil Van Djik and Divock Origi’s goals ensured that Liverpool have put the game to the sword, before the end of the first half, while Pukkis goal gave the newly promoted side a consolation. Though they have won the match, but Alisson’s injury is one of the negative outcome of the game for Liverpool as he suffered a calf injury which rules him out of Wednesday encounter with Chelsea. For now Liverpool’s attention will be on Istanbul.
